We are conscientious about preparing & serving the foods that we offer to our guests.  We aim to provide fresh, tasty & nutritious meals, using our own home grown produce and local or regional suppliers.  As well as the traditional Full English Breakfast we offer many alternatives.  
If you require a special diet please let us know. 

In line with Health & Safety requirements we only cook with grade A fresh Free Range hens eggs.  We choose to cook with grade A free range eggs because they are the best, and we are supporting the hens' needs for natural day light, fresh air and freedom to roam. Our eggs are supplied from a local farm.
 We try to ensure that our Fresh fish is Wild Line Caught and from local sources where possible e.g Rutland Water Trout. Other fish suppliers include Swallow Fish and Craster Smokehouses from Northumberland, also Cornwall and the Isle of Man. 

We make our own Pork sausages , and our meat is sourced and produced locally, from the best Lincolnshire suppliers.   We  also bake our own Wholemeal , Spelt & Oat flour bread & rolls.   Assorted  Jams & chutneys are home made or from small specialist producers. 

We use fresh locally grown vegetables, herbs & fruit, some grown locally on allotments and from our garden. Some of these we blanch then freeze ourselves, other vegetables, eg quality peas, we buy frozen.

We use sea salt and whole black peppercorns.  Our stocks, sauces & soups are home made using fresh or dried herbs.  We only use Sunflower & Virgin Olive Oil for cooking oils. Our own home made pastry products contain 59% vegetable oil & 21% olive oil & no e-numbers, colours or preservatives. No Hydrogenated Fats

Coffee beans are ground at York House. 
The selection of beans we offer : Guatemala Elephant - Pico Duarte - Old Brown Java - Kenya Peaberry , plus a few others. We support Fare to Farmers and the Ladies' Co-operative.
A cup of freshly home ground coffee is always available during your stay on request ~  From lunch time till early evening from £1.40 per person. 

Other Coffee,(including Instant) & breakfast teas,fruit or Redbush Herbal Infusion are from Fair Trade.   Sugar is natural unrefined golden granulated. We use semi-skimmed milk.

Porridge Oats are Pure Organic Oats, grown with conservation in mind.
